South Carolina drowns against Crimson Tide

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The national championship trophy wasn’t on display. Nick Saban didn’t rise from the floor flashing his sixth ring. What Alabama’s football team did Monday night was barely mentioned Tuesday at Coleman Coliseum.

It was purely a basketball environment when the Crimson Tide hosted South Carolina – and it turns on extra fireworks aren’t needed to get a familiar result.

Alabama beat USC, 76-62, handing Frank Martin’s bunch its fifth straight loss in this venue.

The Gamecocks dropped to 10-6 overall and 1-3 in the SEC. The Tide improved to 10-6 and 2-2 in the league.
