South Carolina has dismissed cornerback Al Harris Jr. and defensive end David Johnson. Both would have been juniors this fall.
Harris was a starter in 2015, while Johnson was a part-time starter and a key rotation player.
“They are no longer part of the team,” new coach Will Muschamp told 247sports.com. “We wish them the best.”
Harris, who was a member of the SEC’s all-freshman team in 2014, had 25 tackles and four pass breakups in 2015. Johnson had 20 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in 2015. Harris’ dad was a longtime NFL cornerback who twice went to the Pro Bowl.
