“He recently expressed some desire to stay at South Carolina,” coach Will Muschamp told reporters. “He was still here, so we gave him the opportunity to come practice with us.”
Muschamp had voiced his concern before about the play of his safeties and the lack of depth at the position. He has even joked that he or defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson would line up to play the position. (Hey, both played in the SEC: Muschamp was a safety at Georgia, Robinson a corner at Auburn.)
Moody (6 feet 1, 215 pounds), a fifth-year senior, has started seven games during his career for the Gamecocks.
