TAMPA, Fla. -- Not only will South Carolina head football coach Will Muschamp be getting a raise when the season is complete, but the Gamecocks assistants all can expect more in their paychecks in 2018.

“We have had two or three meetings regarding his staff, which is of the utmost importance to (Muschamp),” South Carolina athletics director Ray Tanner told The State.

Tanner and South Carolina’s football team are in Tampa preparing for the Jan. 1 Outback Bowl against Michigan in Raymond James Stadium. The Gamecocks finished Muschamp’s second season as head coach 8-4 overall. The school’s Board of Trustees has been discussing a contract extension and raise for Muschamp for more than a month, a source told The State.
