South Carolina at Ole Miss game 3 recap: Gamecocks swept by Rebels in 6-4 loss

Much like in the other two games of this series (and many games this season), South Carolina’s offense was frustrating (and frustrated) at the plate, as they dropped the second game of the doubleheader against Ole Miss, marking the first time they’ve been swept in an SEC series this season.

The Gamecocks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning, after Josiah Sightler doubled with one out and David Mendham singled, then Wes Clarke came through with a homer. The Rebels responded in the bottom of the inning, making it 3-2 courtesy of RBI singles from Hayden Leatherwood and Jason Gonzalez.
