South Carolina’s three-game winning streak came to a screeching halt in the series opener against LSU, as the Gamecocks weren’t able to get much of anything going on Thursday night.
The Tigers got out to an early lead, going up 2-0 in the first inning on a Gavin Dugas home run. That score held all the way until the seventh, when LSU doubled its score on an RBI double by Dylan Crews and an RBI sac fly from Cade Doughty. Their final run came in the eighth inning on a solo shot by Cade Beloso.
USC finally ended the shutout in the ninth inning.
