After a lackluster performance on Saturday, the Gamecocks looked like the might be falling back into bad habits on Sunday against No. 17 Vanderbilt, but they rallied - TWICE! - to beat the Commodores and lock up another important SEC series win.
Vandy got on the board first, taking a 4-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a walk, a couple of groundouts, and an error. South Carolina cut the lead in half in the third inning, when LT Tolbert singled with one out, then Jonah Bride hit a two-run homer to make the score 4-2.
The Dores got a run back in the fourth inning on an RBI double that put them up 5-2, then the Gamecocks scored a run in the top of the sixth on a solo shot by Madison Stokes to make it 5-3.
