The fun and good and productive version of South Carolina’s offense was nowhere to be found on Saturday, as they mustered just one run against No. 17 Vanderbilt.
The Gamecocks were first on the board, going up 1-0 in the first inning on a home run by Carlos Cortes. Unfortunately, everything when downhill after that.
The Commodores tied the game and took the lead in the second inning, thanks to a pair of RBI singles and a pair of two-RBI singles that put them up 6-1 by the time the inning was done. That score held until the fifth inning, when Vandy added its final two runs of the game on a homer.
