A CBSSports.com interview by Dennis Dodds with Ohio State coach Urban Meyer paints a picture of a man with a long memory. When talking to Meyer, the conversation moved into an area he’s sensitive to: replacing legendary coaches.
Meyer, who has had to replace both Steve Spurrier and Jim Tressel – and done so successfully – doesn’t like newcomer head coaches blaming previous administrations for their failures.
Dodd quotes Meyer as saying Will Muschamp, who replaced Meyer with the Gators, “blamed us for Florida.”
The “blame” in question being Muschamp’s assertion during his time at Florida that he had to clean up the locker room and the program from the condition Meyer left it in.
