New Georgia State coach Shawn Elliott has hired South Carolina’s Cedric Williams to become his offensive line coach, FootballScoop reported Monday.
Williams, who serves as the Gamecocks’ assistant strength and conditioning coach, assisted Elliott with the team’s offensive line before the latter was hired to take the Panthers job last Thursday.
Williams previously has been an assistant at Mississippi Valley State and Division II Newberry College before joining the staff ahead of this season under first-year coach Will Muschamp.
Williams also was an offensive lineman at South Carolina from 1999-2002, where he earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2000.
