The other candidates (listed alphabetically) with SEC ties were Florida offensive tackle Lomas Brown, Kentucky quarterback Tim Couch, Florida defensive tackle Brad Culpepper, Clemson and Arkansas coach Danny Ford, Alabama running back Bobby Humphrey, Alabama defensive end/linebacker E.
