Former South Carolina baseball coach Chad Holbrook won’t have to go far for his next job.
Holbrook, who departed USC following the 2017 season, was hired at College of Charleston, the Post and Courier reported Thursday. He was an assistant at North Carolina when Cougars athletic director Matt Roberts was a player in the mid-1990s.
Earlier in the day, reports came out Holbrook’s candidacy hit a snag and the favorite had become former Cougars pitching coach and N.C. State assistant Scott Foxhall.
Holbrook replaces Matt Heath, whose tumultuous tenure ended with allegations of abusive behavior.
