Former South Carolina coach Chad Holbrook confirmed this past week that he would be interviewing for a job over the weekend.
According to a report Saturday night from The Big Spur, that job is as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt, an SEC East rival of the Gamecocks.
Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin said at the SEC Tournament that he is friends with Holbrook and that he feels bad for the way USC’s season unfolded with the Gamecocks suffering several injuries and missing the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.
Holbrook was regarded as one of the best assistant coaches in the nation before taking over USC’s program in 2013.
