COLUMBIA — Two of the five suspended South Carolina basketball players have been arrested by Columbia police.
Gamecocks freshmen Eric Cobb and Jamall Gregory were both charged Thursday with counts of malicious injury to personal property stemming from an incident with a BB gun.
Cobb has been charged with one count of malicious injury to personal property, and one count of third-degree assault and battery. Gregory has been charged with three counts of malicious injury to personal property. Both player were arrested early Thursday, according to Columbia police, and later released after posting personal recognizance bonds.
Cobb and Gregory were two of five USC players, along with sophomore Marcus Stroman, redshirt freshman TeMarcus Blanton and freshman Chris Silva, suspended indefinitely by head coach Frank Martin hours before the Gamecocks’ NIT opener on Tuesday.
