COLUMBIA — Chandler Farrell has bolstered the center position for South Carolina in preseason camp, and the true freshman walk-on from Summerville has earned a place on the Gamecocks’ travel squad as a result.
Head coach Will Muschamp on Sunday praised Farrell’s work at center, where returning starter Alan Knott continues be limited with a hand injury suffered in spring practice. Knott has worked primarily at guard in preseason camp, with Cory Helms, Donnell Stanley, and Farrell among those rotating in at center.
“This guy’s a good football player,” Muschamp said of Farrell on a conference call with reporters.
