COLUMBIA — Torrential thunderstorms which rolled through Columbia on Monday night evidently damaged the aluminum sign on the front of Williams-Brice Stadium.
Part of the block C and tail feathers were missing Tuesday from the lighted Gamecocks logo that sits high atop the stadium’s elevator shaft. Trees were downed and some roads flooded after thunderstorms brought high winds and dropped as much as five inches of rain on some parts of the city.
Effects of the storm did not impact the opening practice of USC’s preseason camp, held Tuesday morning at the practice facility across the street from the stadium.
