COLUMBIA — Brandon Shell may carry a 35-game streak of consecutive starts into South Carolina’s season opener, but Thursday night’s game will still present something of a first for the Goose Creek native.
After three years of starting at right tackle, the senior will shift to left tackle beginning with the game against North Carolina in Charlotte. Shell, who missed spring practice due to shoulder surgery, made the move in preseason camp due to the loss of Corey Robinson, drafted by the Detcroit Lions.
“There was an adjustment period,” Shell said. “I had to work on it just like everything else.
