COLUMBIA — If South Carolina’s quarterback competition stretches closer to the Sept. 3 season opener, how will head coach Steve Spurrier decide who plays against North Carolina?
“Oh, probably a coin flip. I’m just kidding. Something will happen,” he said Sunday, at USC’s annual Media Day. But don’t rule out the possibility of seeing more than one signal-caller play against the Tar Heels in Charlotte.
“If they’re all very even, we might say, ‘Hey, play the first couple of series. You’re going to play a couple, and we’ll see what happens.’ You’ve got to see the players in real action, as we know,” Spurrier said.
