COLUMBIA — The numbers may indicate otherwise, but South Carolina players believe they can see progress out of a Gamecocks offense ranked next last among the NCAA’s 128 FBS teams in scoring.
“The second half last week was very positive,” tight end Hayden Hurst said of last weekend’s effort against No. 8 Texas A&M. “We got the ball down the field, the offense was rolling, we were clicking. That was a pretty good defense we moved the ball against.”
USC set season-highs in rushing and total offense in that game, yet lost 24-13 and still averages an SEC-worst 14 points per game.
