No. 6 South Carolina’s starting pitching was much better but the offense was underwhelming again on Friday night in a 4-1 loss to open the series against No. 3 Arkansas.
The Razorbacks got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the third inning on a single by Kendall Diggs. The Gamecocks tied things up in the top of the sixth, making it 1-1 after Michael Braswell started things off with a base hit and later scored on a single by Braylen Wimmer.
Arkansas responded in the bottom of the sixth, going up 2-1 after a run scored when Caleb Cali hit into a double play.
