South Carolina will try to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Alabama when the 19th-ranked Gamecocks travel to Mississippi State for a Southeastern Conference game Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Miss.
South Carolina (19-5, 9-2 SEC) had won four in a row and nine of 10 before suffering a 90-86 quadruple-overtime loss to Alabama on Tuesday. Mississippi State (14-9, 5-6), which is coming off a 98-92 loss to Auburn, has lost three of four and five of its last seven.
South Carolina coach Frank Martin praised his players for their effort but lamented their sloppy shooting following the loss to Alabama.
