The Carolina rivalry resumes after a hiatus of nearly a decade with the Wolfpack and Gamecocks meeting on neutral turf in Charlotte.
Over the years, this has been one of the tightest of all rivalries in the South (South Carolina leads the series 27-26-4) and was once a regular feature of the schedule. The teams faced off every year except one from 1956 to 1991.
South Carolina sophomore Jake Bentley has his first chance in 2017 to back up his billing as one of the SEC’s most promising young quarterbacks if the Gamecocks’ line can keep him out of the clutches of the Wolfpack defensive front and star pass rusher Bradley Chubb.
