New South Carolina coach Will Muschamp obviously believes in Kurt Roper, who will be his offensive coordinator. Muschamp said on SiriusXM College Sports Nation on Friday morning that if he had hired Roper as his first OC at Florida, “I’d probably still be there.”
Muschamp had three offensive coordinators in his four seasons as Gators coach: Charlie Weis in his first season, Brent Pease in seasons two and three and Roper in his final season, in 2014. The Roper-coordinated offense averaged 367.6 yards per game, including just 179.9 per game through the air.
The offense struggled throughout Muschamp’s tenure at Florida.
