Let’s set the record straight. The Gamecocks have been able to score in the redzone this season. Unfortunately, it’s just field goals and those didn’t exactly come in handy in last weeks loss to Kentucky. Through two games, the Gamecocks have only managed to score 2 touchdowns in 7 trips into the redzone. For all the math whizzes out there, that’s scoring a touchdown from inside the opponents 20 yard line 28.6% of the time.
The bottom line is the Gamecocks must be able to score more touchdowns when driving that deep into enemy territory. 28.6% just isn’t going to cut it, especially with games against Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and Clemson.
