Former USC and NFL quarterback John David Booty hadn’t heard much about Jake Bentley’s decision to bypass his senior year of high school and enroll at South Carolina this summer, but he nevertheless has a thought about it: Good for him.
Booty followed the same path 13 years ago, giving up his senior year at Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy to enroll at USC and play for Pete Carroll. He said Wednesday afternoon that “given the circumstances,” he never regretted the decision.
“I love every decision I made” regarding going to college early, Booty told GN in a phone interview.
