South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp on Friday named wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon his full-time offensive coordinator.
McClendon, who served as interim offensive coordinator and play-caller for the Gamecocks’ 26-19 Outback Bowl win over Michigan, becomes the fifth full-time offensive coordinator for Muschamp, who will be entering his seventh season as a head coach this fall.
The Gamecocks (9-4) fired Kurt Roper -- who had served as Muschamp’s offensive coordinator for three years, including Muschamp’s first two years at South Carolina – on Dec. 6 after finished 12th in the SEC in scoring and yards in the regular season.
