South Carolina’s last game week was all about perseverance, as the Gamecocks simply tried to hold everything together in the wake of Steve Spurrier’s resignation. Now, following an off week to reassess and adjust, the team that takes the field against Texas A&M will likely better resemble the squad interim coach Shawn Elliott will oversee for the remainder of the year. And the differences between the Gamecocks before and after should grow starker as the season goes along.

Give Elliott credit — the man is a realist when it comes to some of the shortcomings the Gamecocks have on offense.
