COLUMBIA — After being suspended from the South Carolina men’s basketball program for the final month of this past season, forward Demetrius Henry has announced his intention to transfer.
The 6-9, 226-pound sophomore wrote Tuesday on his Twitter feed that he would be leaving USC. Henry and another forward, freshman Shamiek Sheppard, were both suspended by head coach Frank Martin on Feb. 17 for an undisclosed violation of team policy.
“I want to thank Coach Frank and the University of South Carolina (for) the opportunity to play here, but I will be transferring,” Henry wrote. “I also want to thank the fans.
