COLUMBIA — South Carolina’s game against Georgia remains slated for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium, but Gov. Nikki Haley isn’t so sure it will kick off as scheduled — not with the threat of Hurricane Matthew looming offshore.
“That’s a decision based on the schools, but as of now I can’t imagine that happening,” Haley told reporters Tuesday at S.C. Emergency Management Division headquarters in West Columbia, during an update on the state’s preparations for the storm.
“But certainly, we’re going to continue to watch this. Look, I would love nothing more than to see this suddenly take a right-hand turn and go out to sea.
