Goose Creek DE Javon Kinlaw commits to South Carolina

Javon Kinlaw, a 6-7, 270-pound defensive end from Goose Creek, has been considered one of the best looking prospects, physically speaking, in the state for the past two seasons. To see him in person is to be wowed by his stature.

His performance on the field also was eye-catching, enough to earn him a spot on this year’s Shrine Bowl team and the US Army All American Game. In the classroom, Kinlaw has admittedly lagged behind and that’s why a lot of major programs passed on him.

But new South Carolina coach Will Muschamp is trying to put his stamp on the state and Tuesday he offered Kinlaw and accepted a commitment from him knowing there could be a junior college detour before he becomes a Gamecock.
