NASHVILLE, Tenn. — South Carolina has suspended four players for its season opener Thursday night at Vanderbilt.
USC announced shortly before kickoff that offensive linemen Alan Knott and Christian Pellage, along with defensive back Toure Boyd, would sit out serving one-game suspensions. Defensive lineman Abu Lamin was suspended for three games, beginning Thursday night.
The reason for the suspensions was not specified beyond a violation of team rules, according to USC.
Pellage was arrested in July for DUI, a charge on which the sophomore has requested a jury trial. Knott was USC’s starting center last season, but played primarily guard in preseason camp due to a lingering hand injury which made it difficult for him to snap the ball.
