JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Tiffany Mitchell let the 3-pointer fly, and as it swished through the net she stood there on the right wing, right arm extended, wiggling a little just to rub it in.
After a slog the previous afternoon which had raised plenty of questions about this South Carolina team, the third-ranked Gamecocks delivered a roundhouse blow in the SEC Tournament semifinals which left no doubt. Mitchell scored 20, and top-seeded USC found points from everywhere in a 93-63 demolition of No. 13 Kentucky at Veterans Memorial Arena.
USC rebounded from one of its lowest-scoring games of the season, a quarterfinal victory over Auburn, with one of its best.
