Gamecocks pitcher Braden Webb signs with Brewers

COLUMBIA — Wearing a South Carolina T-shirt and a Major League Baseball draft cap, Gamecocks pitcher Braden Webb began the next step in his career Friday by signing with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Webb, selected in the third round with the 82nd overall pick, announced his signing in a Twitter post, accompanied by a photo of him inking the deal at what appeared to be Miller Park. Webb led USC’s pitching staff in victories this past season, going 10-5 with a 3.09 earned run average.

Webb’s signing bonus was not yet know, but his slot value was $764,800.
