Gamecocks In The NFL: Connor Shaw to Undergo Thumb Surgery

In Thursday nights preseason opener against Washington, Former Gamecock star quarterback Connor Shaw sustained a injury to his thumb. Shaw went 5-10 in passing racking up 64 yards, throwing his longest pass at 23 yards and being sacked twice.

If you remember, Shaw got his first NFL start last season against the Baltimore Ravens, going 14-of-28 for 177 yards with one interception.

Browns Head Coach Mike Pettine had this to say about Shaws injury, “I feel for Connor because he has worked Extremely hard, he’s a competitor and has had a great offseason and a good camp so far.
