COLUMBIA — Two-time SEC Player of the Year Tiffany Mitchell has undergone surgery to repair an injury to her left foot, the South Carolina women’s basketball program has announced.
Mitchell had the surgery early last week to address “a stress-related injury to her left foot,” according to USC. Mitchell sprained her left ankle in July during an exhibition game while training for the Pan-American Games, missing the tournament due to the injury.
The stress injury was discovered while USC medical director Dr. Jeffrey Guy was performing a follow-up examination on the ankle sprain. Guy will reevaluate Mitchell over the next several weeks as she undergoes rehabilitation.
