One week after dramatic comeback, South Carolina had a discouraging letdown Saturday.
The Gamecocks were outgained 153 yards to 9 yards in the fourth quarter and gave up a 10-point lead in the final 13 minutes in a 24-17 loss to Texas A&M in front of 96,430 fans in Kyle Field. The loss dropped South Carolina to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the SEC. The Aggies, who are 4-0 all-time against the Gamecocks, improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the SEC.
The Gamecocks went ahead 17-7 with 9:24 left in the third quarter when quarterback Jake Bentley found OrTre Smith for a 13-yard score.
