A stellar couple days of football recruiting continued on Friday for the South Carolina Gamecocks, when they got a pledge from in-state talent Cam Smith after his high school’s season-opening game.
Smith, a four-star cornerback, is ranked the 30th best player at his position nationally and is rated the third-best overall talent in the state of South Carolina by 247Sports. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Westwood prospect held offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, and others before choosing his hometown Gamecocks.
“It’s my home school, I’ve been loving it since I was little,” Smith told the media after his commitment Friday night.
