COLUMBIA — The decision when to play South Carolina’s football game against Georgia this weekend is up to USC, according to Gov. Nikki Haley.
“That is completely a school decision in terms of that,” Haley said Thursday morning from S.C. Emergency Management Division headquarters in West Columbia, where she held a news conference on the state’s preparations for Hurricane Matthew. “That’s not anything I need to make.”
USC and Georgia are scheduled to play at Williams-Brice Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. According to the National Weather Service, Matthew is forecast to rake the South Carolina coast with conditions deteriorating from Friday night into Saturday.
