The South Pointe (S.C.) pipeline has paid off for the South Carolina Gamecocks in the past.
Chris Smith joined that list today as he became the latest member of the class of 2016 to commit to the team. Smith apparently liked what he saw and heard at the program's first cookout and pool party, pledging to the staff as a result.
The DB, who put his likelihood at committing today at 85 percent (later 95%) and had the Gamecocks as his only high major offer, decided not to pass on the opportunity to play SEC football.
