COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A'ja Wilson of South Carolina is The Associated Press women's college basketball player of the year.
Wilson has been a force on both ends of the court, ranking in the top 10 nationally in points (22.6, seventh in the nation) and blocks (3.2, fifth in the nation) per game. Wilson also averaged a career-high 11.8 rebounds per game.
Wilson had 21 20-point games and 24 double-doubles as a senior. She guided Carolina to its third NCAA Elite Eight in the last four years, averaging a team-best 22.
