After a regular season that produced some unfamiliar moments, the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team concluded the SEC Tournament in a very familiar fashion: as champions.
Collecting the program’s sixth SEC title in seven years, the Gamecocks put away an upstart Georgia squad 67-62, showing some resiliency with a third-quarter run that helped seal the deal after a back-and-forth first half led to a tied score at halftime.
Aliyah Boston, the tournament MVP, turned in a dominant performance with 27 points and 15 rebounds — her third double-double of the event. Destanni Henderson and Zia Cooke also garnered an all-tournament team selections, with Henderson putting up 18 points and nine rebounds, while Cooke added eight points.
