P.J. Dozier, standing alongside his celebrated former teammates, waved to the Colonial Life Arena crowd. The son and nephew of former South Carolina basketball players was the first to help a Gamecocks team to the Final Four.
Dozier was in Columbia on Feb. 17 as part of the program’s “Legends Weekend.” He was honored at halftime of USC’s upset over 10th-ranked Auburn, collecting his East Regional championship ring next to Sindarius Thornwell, Duane Notice and Justin McKie.
Flash ahead a week later and Dozier was mentioned in a lengthy Yahoo Sports report as one of several players who allegedly received financial benefits from the ASM Sports agency while in college.
