Damiere Byrd’s career to this point has involved shuttling on and off the Carolina Panthers roster and practice squad.
Saturday the former South Carolina football speedster took another step as an NFL player.
Byrd made the Carolina Panthers’ 53-man roster as teams cut down for the start of the season. He has played in one career game and had two catches for 21 yards and a touchdown this preseason.
