Dawn Staley’s return home to Philadelphia was a triumphant one, as South Carolina women’s basketball (11-1) powered its way to an easy 87-60 win over Temple on Thursday, giving its head coach sole possession of the program record for victories in the process.
Like Win No. 231, a 99-38 drubbing of Savannah State, and so many before it in the past few years, Thursday’s game was once again dominated by senior forward A’ja Wilson, who got in on the record-breaking herself, establishing new South Carolina career records for free throws made and attempted while collecting 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocks.
