Darius Rucker made good on his pledge to hold an on-campus concert for students at the University of South Carolina on Wednesday night.
Rucker, a noted Gamecocks fan, said last August that he would perform a free concert if the football team won six games.
South Carolina went 6-7 this past season, which largely exceeded expectations in coach Will Muschamp’s first with the program. The Gamecocks played in the Birmingham Bowl but lost 46-39 in overtime to South Florida.
The concert was held at Colonial Life Arena, where the schools’ basketball teams play. Notably, the women’s team won its first national championship earlier this week and the men’s team also reached its first Final Four.
