COLUMBIA — Pharoh Cooper is first-team All-SEC after all — according to the league’s coaches, at least.
South Carolina’s star wide receiver had been named second-team by conference media in July. Tuesday, the league’s coaches named the USC junior a preseason first-team selection, along with Laquon Treadwell of Ole Miss.
Cooper, who led USC last season with 1,136 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, was also named first-team all-purpose athlete and first-team return specialist. He caught, ran, and passed for touchdowns last season, and also returns punts.
Two other South Carolina players were named to the third team, offensive lineman Brandon Shell and kicker Elliott Fry.
