COLUMBIA — When was the last time South Carolina guard Tiffany Mitchell played a road game in a venue as small as Clemson’s Jervey Gym?
“In high school,” the Gamecocks’ All-American said. The environment Wednesday night might have that feel, given that the Tigers’ women’s team will host No. 2 South Carolina in their 2,000-seat temporary home due to ongoing renovations at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Normally the home of Clemson’s volleyball team, Jervey Gym’s intimate environment “will definitely work to our advantage,” Tigers head coach Audra Smith said, “and it will be loud and intense.”
Particularly given that admission will be free, and Clemson is controlling ticket access through a voucher system.
