Bryce Love, the son of Gamecock parents, will represent Stanford on Saturday evening at the Heisman Trophy ceremony in New York.
Love has grabbed the nation’s attention this season with dazzling runs and noted toughness. Playing through an ankle injury, the junior has rushed for 1,973 yards and 17 touchdowns. He took the Doak Walker Award – given to college football’s top running back – on Thursday. He’ll be alongside fellow Heisman finalists Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson on Saturday, each eager to see who will be handed their sport’s most prestigious piece of hardware.
The night will make it 37 years since George Rogers became South Carolina’s only Heisman winner.
