Bruce Ellington’s month has been a bit tumultuous. The former two-sport South Carolina star was cut by San Francisco after he missed most of the 2016 season with a torn hamstring, which ended a three-year stint with the team that drafted him. The New York Jets were quick to scoop him up, but also quick to waive him after he failed a physical.
Ellington languished on the market for a few more days before the Texans decided to take a chance on him. In Houston, he joins fellow Gamecocks Jadeveon Clowney and Johnathan Joseph (and fortifies the USC roster presence against the bevy of Clemson Tigers also employed by the team).
