Heading into the game at Auburn, junior guard Kaela Davis was averaging 13.8 points per game. Tonight, she came out on fire and scored 21 points in the first half to lead the South Carolina Gamecocks to 12-1 on the season and 2-0 in SEC play with a 73-47 win over the Auburn Tigers. The win is also number 200 for Dawn Staley as the head coach at South Carolina.
With Davis’ hot start, Carolina jumped out to a 29-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Gamecocks struggled in the second quarter, only scoring 12 points.
